Through clear, consistent and timely communication, we gain understanding of what you need—what will be a good solution for you given your specific circumstances. Understanding your situation requires some patience on both of our parts. We strive to ask good questions, listen to your answers and follow up. It is through a deep understanding that we can identify strategies that move you toward your preferred outcomes and beyond the presenting conflict. For many years, Debra has practiced a form of conflict resolution called compassionate communication, which values connection, deep listening and respectful communications pioneered by Marshall Rosenberg, PhD.
We believe our commitment to these skills and values make us good problem solvers and effective negotiators. We offer mediation services to other attorneys and their clients, which we host at our offices or via Zoom conferencing when required. In a mediation session, like in the rest of our work, listening, patience, curiosity, creativity and respect for our shared humanity are critical. We identify possible solutions that opposing parties may come to see in their mutual interests. It is an honor for our team to be a part of an effort to reach agreement as an alternative to conflict.
